The Prince has never lost a loved one that he can remember. He has what I call "reminded memories" of things he's heard us say so many times from looking at pictures...but none he can TRULY recall.
We received news today that our beloved "surrogate grandmother" has gone home to be with Jesus. It is truly bittersweet. We know she is completely healthy and has all her memories now. It is hard, as a mother, to watch my son grieve as I am grieving...but..."we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."I Thessalonians 4:13-14
So...pray for us and for her dear husband who has cared for her all these years. She lovingly poured herself into everyone who was around. She will be dearly missed here.
I'm eternally grateful for how she and her husband tenderly loved my son and helped to point him to Christ. I'm also grateful that we were able to visit with them on our Farewell Tour. Sweet remembrances.

Will be thinking of your family during this time of mourning. Joy comes in the morning, but this is an appropriate time for grieving the loss of such a dear and treasured person. I know how close you were to her, I know the special relationship the Prince has had with them his entire life, so I know it's difficult for him. May he continually be encouraged, even when it's hard to understand, that we do not grieve as those who have no hope!!!
