"A thankful heart is a happy heart. I'm glad for what I have; that's an easy way to start..." from a Veggie Tale...Madame Blueberry.
I just asked my family what they were thankful for as they were all doing something else. Off the tops of their heads this is what they said...
I'm thankful for...
Princess...
* my family
* my really silly brother
* my new friends
* that I have a translator
* for my goldfish
* everything!
* a place to live
Prince...
* family
* video games
* computer
* internet
* technology in general
* coats
King...
* Language dictionary
* local people helping us to get settled
* "It's okay," when said by nationals
* "long johns"
* Language teachers who want me to succeed
* local food (I've lost 10 lbs.!) as well as Pizza Hut, McDonald's, KFC, + Dairy
Queen!
* for the familiar peace of God even in a foreign country
Queen...
* faithfulness...from my God, from my friends, from my family
* a BREAK from local food...Papa John's is my new friend!!
* a change in life that forces me deeper spiritually
* for the deep, deep love of Jesus
* living in a place where roses are inexpensive (I get them often, now!)
* grace.
* my tutor!!
* a friend who absolutely HOUNDED me to start a blog...that I truly enjoy...now.
There really is so much to be thankful for. I look around me everyday and see people in want and need, both physically and spiritually. It's in their eyes that they lack hope and peace. I'm blessed with plenty. My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills and meets my needs according to his glorious riches as well as gives me an abundantly full life. My cup runneth over...
As you celebrate the holiday with family and friends, take a moment to truly dwell on your blessings and thank the One responsible for them. My friend teases me because everything reminds me of a song or part of a song. This day is no different:
#1
"Count your blessings, name them one by one.
Count your blessings see what God has done."
(Don't know who wrote it, but it wasn't me.)
#2
"For all that You've done, I will thank you
For all that You're going to do
For all that You promised and all that you are
Is all that has carried me through,
Jesus, I thank you.
And I thank you, thank you, Lord.
Thank You for loving and setting me free,
Thank You for giving your life for me
How I thank you, Lord
Jesus, I thank you
Gratefully, thank you.

I loved reading your list! Thanks for stopping by mine. I tried half the night to get the sections to separate and fixed it this morning and added the second verse that should have been there all along. Check out the one I didn't put in but really didn't forget, just got so frustrated that I had to go back today and fix it! For He is the One I am most thankful for, for without Him, I would have nothing! Love ya! Have a great Thanksgiving!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!! I'm so thankful for YOU! :)
