Captivate Us

One of my favorite groups is Watermark. They are no longer touring, but are being a family. I applaud that but will miss their distinctive music. I thought I'd share the words of one of the songs that touches me...recently. My hubby and I are singing it at church tomorrow.

I try to put into words why it speaks to me as it does but maybe I don't need to. Maybe it will speak to you as well. Download it and enjoy the soft, flowing, melodic music along with their beautiful voices. It's from the album "A Grateful People".

Captivate US
Your face is beautiful and your eyes are like the stars.
Your gentle hands have healing, there inside the scars.
Your loving arms, they hold me close,
and Your smile it brings me peace.
Draw me closer, oh, my Lord.
Draw me closer Lord to thee.
And..captivate us, Lord Jesus.
Set our eyes on You.
Devastate us with Your presence falling down.
Rushing river, draw us nearer.
Holy Fountain consume us with You.
Captivate us...Lord Jesus...with You.
Your voice is powerful and Your words are radiant bright.
In Your breath and shadow...I will come close and abide.
You whisper words of love divine and Your fellowship is free.
Draw us closer, oh my Lord.
Draw us closer Lord to thee.
And captivate us, Lord Jesus.
Set our eyes on You.
Devastate us with Your presence falling down.
Rushing River, Draw us nearer.
Holy Fountain consume us with You.
Captivate us...Lord Jesus, with You.
And let everything be lost in the shadow of the light of Your face.
And let every chain be broken from me as I'm bound in Your grace.
For Your yoke is easy, Your burden is light.
You're full of wisdom, power, and might.
And every eye...will see You.
So...captivate us, Lord Jesus, with You.
In this busy world...it's my heart's cry.

I was just listening to that album in my car this morning on the drive to work...granted, I'm borrowing the CD, but I've been pretty convinced to go ahead and purchase it for myself :) That's one of my favorites, as well as "Knees to the Earth" and "Arise, and Be Comforted." Everytime I hear "Who Am I" I think of you and want to sing with you again :)

Just reading the lyrics makes me feel the peace of God. Knowing that He holds me close and wants me to rest in His gentle, but strong hands softens any hardness of the day. Thank you for sharing it. Miss you.
