FYI

For whatever the reason, I cannot get any pictures to post lately. I keep trying and trying and by the time I realize I'm not going to get it to work...I can't post anything.

I have lots to say and no time to say it in.

We are leaving TOMORROW to go and meet my parents in another country (as well as the Prince) for a week long vacation. I don't think I'll sleep a wink tonight I'm so excited.

What could be better than warm weather and time with my family?

Nuttin. Absolutely nuttin.

So...sorry you stopped in to see that I won't be back for a while, but I WILL BE BACK.

Prayers for safe travel and connecting flights are appreciated. My parents will be DOG tired by the time they get to us...I hope we don't overwhelm them. LOL.

Happy trails...

This is it!

The day the Princess has been waiting for...

...the birthday/slumber party!

We are all decorated (thanks to Pandamom) and ready for the first guests!

We're planning to watch "Tangled," eat pizza, make jewelry, do hair and makeup, as well as various other things including eating lots of sweets (which include cupcakes)!

So...we're off to get a SERIOUS sugar high and no sleep!

Catch you on the flip side...with droopy eyes and a happy 9 year old daughter!

My Angel Face is 9!

My girl has been so excited about turning 9. She couldn't sleep last night for excitement.

She asked me, "Don't you know what it's like to be so excited about your birthday that you can't sleep?"

I replied, "I don't get excited about birthdays."

"Mom, I know, but when you were a kid you were never excited?" she asked incredulously.

"I'm teasing. Of course, I know what's it's like. But if you don't go to sleep...I'm going to wake you up on your birthday when YOU woke me up on your birthday."

My water broke at 4:45AM and she was born at 6:53AM. She said she didn't mind but when all was said and done...she did.

But her Daddy has been out of town this weekend, but he came home this morning. He brought her breakfast in bed and she LOVED it. Then she opened her email (and mine) to find birthday greetings. If she can make it to the slumber party on Friday she'll be set!

Happy Birthday, darling daughter. You are the child I asked for (and so did your brother). The daughter I wanted. The blessing I don't deserve. I'm glad you are you.

I love watching you grow although it makes me sad sometimes to think how fast that actually is. You are blossoming into a young lady more every day. You are so clever, like your father. You have a laugh that makes my heart smile (even though only your brother can get you to laugh so hard you can't breathe!). Sometimes I laugh so hard at the things you say with such a straight face. Your Uncle A would have LOVED you. You are so many wonderful things and I wait with anticipation to see the woman you'll become. Your absent family misses you, even more than they can say.

Your brother, your dad and I love you and are so glad you are a part of our family. You are a treasure. Happy day to you, Love.

A stolen picture...

PP-365-2-LO
I don't think my friend will mind that I stole this picture...after all I am in it. She can't have complete copyrights without my consent, right? LOL. She is doing a blog where she posts one picture a day (I'd link it here, but I can never make it work!) and this was Day 1 or 2...the morning that the Prince was returning to school.

We have a Love/Hate relationship with Skype. When it works for us, it's WONDERFUL. But more often, it's pixelated (sp?) like this or worse. Anyway. I recognize the Prince and myself. Thought I'd share.

FYI: I've pulled this post up three times and I don't know why it posts half of the picture...but I'm just enough tech savvy to be dangerous and don't know how to fix it. Sorry. You can get the point though.

600th post...whew!

This is the 600th post of my entire blog and the first one in the new year 2011.

Wow.

That's a lot of posts...and just think of all the times I wanted to or tried to and it didn't work. LOL.

Well, I know I should probably write about new beginnings and all that jazz, but personally I don't make resolutions...for various reasons. One thing I DO do is read a chapter in Proverbs a day because an influential man in my life challenged me (and several others) to do so a few years back and said starting in January is a great time since it has 31 days to match the 31 chapters. I don't always make it to the end of the year reading one a day, but I always start again in January if I've fallen off the wagon. LOL. Thanks BJ.

But, what is on our minds as of late is that we sent the Prince back to school, with a few hiccups, but safely.

And..the Princess turns 9(!) on the 10th, which is Monday and we are following that up with a slumber party on the 14th. YIKES.

But AFTER THAT big event we are taking a vacation at the end of the month. Going to WARM weather and spending almost a week with my parents that we haven't seen in more than 2 years. Too long. As of today...24 days and counting! The Prince, us and my parents will all meet in a major warm-weathered city before embarking to the BEACH.

WOOHOO! We are so excited we can hardly think straight! So...we've much to do in the meantime in order to take that vacation. I have some pictures to post, but keep having issues...the story of my life...issues. LOL.

So, be on the lookout...
