Hilarious!

Anyone who knows me personally knows that I am a Reading Teacher and one of my personal pet peeves is when things are "published" with misspelled words. It gets under my skin. As a matter of fact, I probably read 30 novels this summer and I found an error in every one! Maybe I missed my calling and I should've been an editor. Anyway, I didn't notice, nor did anyone of my friends point out MY latest Typo...Soccor! I haven't been on line lately and when I got on today, I immediately burst out with laughter at my own error!!!! Pride cometh before a fall!! God keeps me humble! I have some great pics to show about first days of middle school and Kindergarten. Sorry...later.

Soccor Superstar

I love Upwards Soccor! My son was Assistant Coach for the team, but was on a mission trip when the pics were taken. Check out the Princess on the front row, right corner! Hilarious! It used to be that we couldn't get her to smile for a picture, now she won't be serious! She's her daddy's daughter! I can't say how many pictures I have of him being goofy!

Daddy's Girl

Until I saw this picture, I didn't realize how much I look my dad. I am a 36 yr. old Daddy's Girl. I admit it!

How Cool Is That?

I was doing a little blog surfing today. A few "old" friends have found me and have left comments. When I've visited their blogs I find that they have been tagged from someone I know they have never met personally, but they are both personal to me. It blessed me to see an old friend commenting about what a "new" friend was saying spiritually. It gives fresh meaning to the Body of Christ. We tend to think of the "local" body as opposed to the bigger picture. Maybe that's just my corner of the world. Absolutelyhis and Coloradodreamingfromtexas, I want you to know what a treasure you both are to me.

Let's see...what else to share?

Watching Baby Einstein in a Bumbo! God's gift! Who thought of that? Wish I did.
Fanning her sweet face to get laughs! Priceless. (Notice the Princess is in her Tankini that she obviously has outgrown. Thought I put that in the pile to be given away-sure I did. She digs things out, as you can see.) She calls it her "Babin' Suit. Will hate for her to outgrow that word. Too cute.
The princess giving her the "Lovey" that she sleeps with.

My friend, Pandamom, is freaking out a little about all my recent posts. I SAID I was coming....wait for it. I've had a ton of things going on this summer but much to share, so my posts will be a little bit like my scrapbooks...random, but at least they'll be done. (Love you PM! You got me doing this blog thing anyway!)

This summer I had a chance to spend three weeks babysitting a 3 month old precious baby girl. My friend was returning to work from maternity leave and her childcare provider had unexpected health issues. While she was looking for someone else, I volunteered to do interim work. It was my joy and priviledge to love on this angel we nicknamed "Lillybet" ("Little Bit of Heaven") and to watch my precious girl "mother" her. I've been amazed at how she loves on her animals and babydolls and tries to "mother" her brother, but watching her with Lillybet was a precious gift. First, I realized I am through having babies...if God sees fit to give me one...I ABSOLUTELY will take it, but I'm not pursuing it anymore. Maybe down the line a few years we really will adopt or foster, but for now I'm enjoying my two and the longing for more is gone. Second, I got a chance to watch my baby be a "big sister" which she begs us for at least once a week. She handled it well and never tired of it...it was only three weeks. Third, I saw a side to my son that surprised me as well. He is a young man, his voice has dropped an octave! Those of you who know him as Dudeman or Homey will not believe the changes. He's putting away childish things and behaving (mostly) like a young man. He loves kids and has a natural ability with them. He picked up Lillybet and loved her, burped her(Hilarious!), and helped anyway he could. Well, almost anyway...no diapers, clean of dirty! Ha! And lastly, I'm not as young as I think I am. Lillybet is a wonderful baby, better than either of mine were. Contented, happy, laughing, smiling, good eater, good sleeper, etc. but I was exhausted at the end of the day! I'm thankful for the opportunity to have been able to help someone the way I was helped when my children were babies and I assured her she would have an opportunity to "Pay if forward" but isn't that what the body of Christ is for? This opportunity sent my mind reflecting down memory lane to places I had almost forgotten. God has been so good to me and it's nice to reflect on how long He's been being good to me! Since before I can remember.

Oops.

My anniversary is today, the 10th. I posted after midnight thinking it would post on today's..but apparently it posted on the day it was created. Sorry, Babe. I do know when we got married!

A Momentous Occasion

Yikes! The pictures are blurry. It's the best I can do. Sorry.

This blog's for the love of my youth, the one who has faithfully walked this journey with me for 16 years today. My mind swirls with words to love songs through the years, some you've written to me, others we've claimed because they were so perfect for us. Some snippets...

"Tomorrow morning if you wake up and the sun does not appear. I will be here....I will be here and you can cry on my shoulder when the mirror tells we're older, I will hold you...As sure as seasons were made for change; our lifetimes were made for these years. I will be here. We'll be together cause I will be here."

"We're a match made in heaven, what on earth can go wrong?"

"The Lone Ranger and Tanto, Laurel and Hardy Batman and Robin, Snoopy and Charlie...friends through thick and then. Friends to the very end. I think you would agree that's how it is for you and me."

"As sure as the sun comes up in the sky, as sure as the desert it thirsty and dry, as sure as spring flowers burst into bloom, girl, I will always love you. Yes, I will always love you."

"I look down the road that winds in the distance and wonder where it might lead. I only know it makes no difference as long as you walk with me."

Babe, you are the one God gave to me as a totally undeserved gift. You and I have come so far from 258 1/2 Victoria Street. I love you for more reasons than I can count, but for those who don't know you, let me encourage them with a little of who you are.

You are a man of God, first and foremost. Your faithfulness to God are apparent to me and more importantly to our children. You are an amazing father. There is so much laughter in this house because of you. You make life fun. We live for your "Silly Songs" (I eat refried beans, O spray him, Let my wife's mom sing to you, How good it is to be ADD...shall I go on?) and your one-liners! We cannot quit quoting silly movies! But beyond silliness is a quiet strength. You have never led us astray. You listen for God's voice and prayerfully consider the call. You encourage us to be all God wants us to be. I would not be who I am today without you as my cheerleader. You are an amazingly gifted musician. I recall many nights you singing me to sleep with your guitar and your beautiful lyrical tenor voice. Peaceful rest. You have a God-given gift to put into words the longings of my heart (i.e. "Dedicated") You're a cancer survivor! Take that Satan! You are the first to admit that you are a sinner saved by grace and that nothing you have done is noteworthy, only what Christ has done in your life is of praise. I agree.

In this world of married today divorced tomorrow, can I say I'm glad I married you? It hasn't been perfect, but it's been worth it. Every step.

I love you. I cherish you. I respect and admire you. I'm lost without you. I'd choose you again.

All my love, now and forever.
Happy Anniversary, Love.

Vacations pics

We visited my family in NM and had big plans to campout most of the trip, but little miss got sick and we spent most of the time indoors. She did, however, get well enough to do some rock climbing and swimming. We ended the trip at MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK where she became a Junior Ranger. Big brother had already done it and was not interested this time.My baby brother was there and took naps with the princess and the cat. Too cute.

Fun in the sun

We had many friends visit us this summer, making us grateful for our pool. Lots of entertainment for the kids. The princess has been in a "Babin' Suit" practically every day that we've been home this summer. I actually caught her wearing it to church under her dress clothes because she thought she was going to be able to swim when she got home.

Sew busy.

I've been sewing things this week that I intended to do at the beginning of summer. Birthday gifts for neices and such. Summer outfits for the princess. Yesterday I finished a darling little dress with a matching purse and guess what? The princess needed a dress for her giraffe, whom we named Sesil because of who manufactured it. Anyway, shouldn't we rename her Sesilia? The princess says no, but she must have a matching dress. Mom gave it her best and it turned out pretty cute. See if you think so. The only thing I forgot was a hole for the tail, which why my sewing scissors disappeared and how the princess got them to give herself a new haircut.

Look Carefully/The Countdown is On!

If you are looking, you can see where my darling daughter cut nearly 3 inches off the length of her hair around her face. (Sesil, the giraffe, thankfully did not get a haircut!) She had a shoulder length bob, but now.....
with Lindsey's help, she has a "darling do" that is stacked in the back! Things COULD have been much worse. She could have cut it at the scalp! Now she just needs a couple of clips to keep it out of her face...which is why she cut it. She will not leave it the way I fix it even if she told me how to fix it! Stubborn child....I wonder where she gets it. I told her she would be cute even if she was bald! When I said let's call Memaw and tell her she emphatically said, "NO! It's too embarrassing." So, I'll just post it on my blog and she won't find out until.....
This is a dual blog becuase it won't let me upload pictures to a new post, but somehow let me edit this one. Who would've thought?

School is just around the corner and I have so much left to do this summer! I finally got the pictures on my computer and now this program won't let me upload. ARGH! I'll keep working on it. Much to say and many cute pics to show.
