Wow! Is it really nearly November?

I can't believe it's been so long since I posted. I've got some great post ideas in my head and no time to do it. Just wanted to share that God is good. We've been busy, but we're so blessed. What about you?

Tonsils...Day 5

Wow! The Dr. said the first four days would be the roughest...he wasn't kidding. The Princess wouldn't/couldn't eat and then would take her medicine but after a couple of days started vomiting it up. She had a ROUGH weekend, but you'd never know it from her. I've been so amazed by her. Monday, however was a turning point. When I got home she was chattering up a storm with her Pappaw and had eaten lunch! She still tires out quickly, but oh mercy, the difference in her is astounding. Her eyes were sparkling again. She doesn't realize she sounds different, yet. When the swelling goes down she'll sound the same again. As it is she sounds like a person who is nearly deaf and has been their whole life. I have several "silent friends" and a few who can speak. She sounds the same way right now. I mean no offense, just a comparison. Thanks again for the prayers.

Salt and Pepper/Tonsils...day 3

Day 3. She slept better last night and is still taking the gross medicine. She's winking at us (meaning she's perking up) although not talking too much. Understandably. We invited Princess M over to color or play dress up dolls, but nothing too "busy." She was excited to come and they had a fun 2 hours. When she left my Princess was tired, but smiling. I took pics, but it's a new camera I haven't mastered the transfer, yet.

Found these pics on my husbands computer and laughed. These two WISH they were sisters. (I keep telling them if they were sisters, they might not like each other as much...but what do I know? I only have brothers.) These two want to spend every spare moment together. As fair and blonde as mine is, the other, Princess M, is as dark. They sleep all over each other. I've tried to take some pictures of one using the other as a pillow, upside down in the bed. Many times they've moved by the time I get back with the camera. These are not the pics I want to post today, but they'll do. I'm working on it.
Thanks for the prayers. Keep it up. Thank Him for all he's done. We are!

Tonsils...day 2

Well, the Princess is such a trooper. I cannot believe how well she's doing. I know the next couple of days are going to be tough on her, but she's a tough nut to crack. She takes the nasty medicine when whe's supposed to with the most hilarious look on her face. I can feel her pain. Anyway, the only way you know she isn't feeling well is that she is extra loving. She says, "Mom, I love you," almost continually. Last night when the Prince got home around 7:00 after being gone since 5:45 in the morning he picked her up and they hugged each other for about 10 minutes. He walked around the house, with her wrapped around him, talking to her about his day. These are the moments to treasure.

Tonsils are out!!

Well, the surgery was this morning and the princess did so well! She'll be sleeping much today. She's received many gifts and expressions of love. Thanks for the prayers. Keep 'em comin'! The DR. says the first four days are the roughest. More later with pictures.

What a weekend!

I hope I can get pictures to post. We had a whirlwind weekend. We drove 4 hours to see "The Promise" and also got in a visit to the Creation Evidence Museum (AWESOME) and Fossil Rim Wildlife Park. I have stories to tell and hopefully pictures to show! We'll see. Much happening this week. Open House at school. The Princess gets her tonsils taken out on Thursday. Life just goes on for the rest of us. Pray for her...she's a little nervous because she doesn't know what to expect. Will post more later...

I'm gonna get me one of these!

I am an animal lover. All kinds. My husband lets me have two, one cat and one dog at a time. My brothers used to call me "Ellie May Clampet" because I would bring home every stray I could find. Anyway, my SIL in Midland took my neice to a place locally and took these pictures. I've forgotten the name of the place, but she was close enough take these pics. She also let one of the lionesses (declawed) hold her hand. It was a powerful picture. Anyway...in my minds's eye, when I get to heaven...I'm gonna have one or two of these! They are magnifiscent creatures. The lion reminds me of Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia. If you haven't read the books...you must. The movie was great as well, but the books are always better to me. Thought I'd share. Take a moment and reflect on the awesomeness of a God who creates/created so deliberately.

Passed out, but no picture!

My precious son learned some valuable lessons the hard way last week. He wouldn't get up for school and missed breakfast at home. I have breakfast bars for this reason, but he didn't get one. Halfway to school and too far to go back I asked him if he'd eaten, he said,"No." I reminded him he had money in his account to eat breakfast and sent him on his way. Instead of eating breakfast he went straight to "Robotics" which is his new love. (THAT'S ONE.) Third period is band and they are marching. He loves that, too. (band geek like his parents!! Go band!) Anyway, he was seriously light headed and would not sit down. (THAT'S TWO.)He has the fear of the band director. When I asked him why he didn't put his head between his knees he said, "Mom. It's band. You barely breathe if it means moving any body part!" So needless to say, he continued feeling lightheaded. He thought that locking his knees would keep him from swaying back and forth because of his lightheadedness. (THAT'S THREE.) He woke up on the ground in pain. He passed out and landed on his trumpet. (It is in need of serious repair)! He is okay, but it did shake him up. It has never happened to him before. This kid is rarely sick or even feeling bad. He doesn't want to admit it, but it scared him. When I got the call from school, I asked if he was okay, and the sweet nurse said I needed to come get him. Once, I fed him and he got to rest his side from landing on the horn...he was fine. But he learned 3 things not to do... The good news is that he was marching on the grass that day...not the ashpalt. He wouldn't allow a picture, but the sweet boy was head to toe grass stains and grass was still in his hair when I got to him. He can laugh about it now.
