See you later...

I have so much to share and no time to do it.

We've been out of town. Midland. We sent my brother and his family off on a plane on Christmas morning. They moved to Africa. I'm so utterly proud of them and the fact that they have accepted to call to full time missions and so utterly heartbroken for the changes that means for our family. I have been mourning the loss of memories that I'd anticipated making for so many years to come. The time we shared together before they left was bittersweet. I can't stop the tears...even now as I type. I didn't get to see them that often, but I knew I could and that if I needed them-they'd be there. No one said it was easy to follow Christ. The last words my brother said to me were not "Goodbye", but..."See you later..." Godspeed Roger, Laurie, Kandle and Walker. Our love and prayers are with you. Always.

Boys will be boys!

Prince D saves his money for what he wants to spend it on. He's been saving for months for a new fancy bike- which he is now the proud owner of. It's quite impressive to see that kind of will power in an eleven year old. However,...he is still a boy and although he's on to his newest conquest he can't always resist a new inexpensive toy even if it means it delays the bigger things he desires. This dart gun, for example, has been the source of much amusement for everyone except the animals. They just aren't too sure about it.
My boys have this thing about taking serious pictures. For years after we were married, I didn't have a single picture with the King NOT being goofy. His "goof-off" of choice was usually napkin rings. (However, Pandamom and pop will recall a certain Valentines Day with a Riesen candy!) Well, I've gotten him to outgrow that(mostly)...but here comes the chip off the old block. He has glasses, so he improvises. There's never a dull moment at my house. Truly-I wouldn't have it any other way. They bring joy.
