My Cup Runneth Over...

Nothing makes my heart smile more than seeing a grown man (any man) playing with or loving on children (his or someone else's). Daddy is Prince Eric and, of course, Princess C is Ariel.

A Kodak Moment

(Just a funny to share. She doesn't like the shredded wheat spooners. She says they taste "Hairy." Priceless.)
Our Thanksgiving banquet was this evening and our Children's Choirs performed. This was Princess C's first time on stage. She sang out (she ought to she's the Music Minister's child!) and did all the sign language and motions. I loved it. (She's signing the word "Life")
Panda Mom, I think I've mastered the digital camera problems!! Woo Hoo!

Milestone Marker
Prince D is teaching himself how to play the guitar, with a few pointers and side lessons from Dad! Just random pics as I figure this thing out!
Now on to the milestone!
Yesterday, D received his first phone call from a girl! Yikes. She wanted him to "Go with her." He politely told her yes, but he'd need to talk to his dad first. After asking if he was starting to like girls and finding out, "No, not really."...Mom and Dad say: 1) you're too young to "Go" with someone 2) girls should not be calling you. A gentleman shows a young lady respect by calling her or going to her house to ask her parents 3) it would be a good idea if you talk to mom or dad before asking a girl to "Go" with you. Now most of this conversation took place between father and son. (Remember that I teach and D attends a small private christian school to which this young lady goes as well. She's my student.) Today after school, I asked D if he talked to the young lady. He made me smile as a parent when he said, "No, mom that's a private thing and we didn't have a private moment. But I will tell her what you and dad said. I don't want anyone else to hear because there are a few people who can't keep secrets." I was pretty impressed. I reminded him even though I'm not sure he needed it that she has feelings and to consider those when he spoke to her. He nodded. It's unreal how much he has changed and matured just since August. Most of the changes are visible when he is hanging out with the youth group. He doesn't want to be a pain to the older kids. He's trying to grow up and it's killing me!!! :)
