Captivate Us

One of my favorite groups is Watermark. They are no longer touring, but are being a family. I applaud that but will miss their distinctive music. I thought I'd share the words of one of the songs that touches me...recently. My hubby and I are singing it at church tomorrow.

I try to put into words why it speaks to me as it does but maybe I don't need to. Maybe it will speak to you as well. Download it and enjoy the soft, flowing, melodic music along with their beautiful voices. It's from the album "A Grateful People".

Captivate US
Your face is beautiful and your eyes are like the stars.
Your gentle hands have healing, there inside the scars.
Your loving arms, they hold me close,
and Your smile it brings me peace.
Draw me closer, oh, my Lord.
Draw me closer Lord to thee.
And..captivate us, Lord Jesus.
Set our eyes on You.
Devastate us with Your presence falling down.
Rushing river, draw us nearer.
Holy Fountain consume us with You.
Captivate us...Lord Jesus...with You.
Your voice is powerful and Your words are radiant bright.
In Your breath and shadow...I will come close and abide.
You whisper words of love divine and Your fellowship is free.
Draw us closer, oh my Lord.
Draw us closer Lord to thee.
And captivate us, Lord Jesus.
Set our eyes on You.
Devastate us with Your presence falling down.
Rushing River, Draw us nearer.
Holy Fountain consume us with You.
Captivate us...Lord Jesus, with You.
And let everything be lost in the shadow of the light of Your face.
And let every chain be broken from me as I'm bound in Your grace.
For Your yoke is easy, Your burden is light.
You're full of wisdom, power, and might.
And every eye...will see You.
So...captivate us, Lord Jesus, with You.
In this busy world...it's my heart's cry.

Random thoughts

When I changed jobs I truly thought I was going to have more time and I did in the beginning. Now I can't figure out what the deal is. I'm still behind in everything. Maybe I spoke too soon.

Also, I don't think blogging is as much fun without the pictures. I don't know if I would read my blog if there weren't some pictures and now my digital camera is dying. It chooses when it wants to work and conveniently it's not when I want it to.

I love reading my friends' blogs because I feel closer to them, but then the reality that I'm missing big chunks of their life hits me. I guess I've lived in denial so long, I don't want to come out into the real world.
Maybe blogging isn't my thing. I'm still deciding. I might be more apt to stick it out if I could get the pictures I want on here.
Am I whining? Maybe that's my cue to go to bed. Goodnight Gracie.

116th time's a charm!

Well, here's another one, but not the one I'm TRYING TO GET!!! AARRRGGHHH At least I know it works on specific pictures. I don't know why it's blurry. Maybe it's just me.
This is in China at an English Summer Camp this past summer. These girls were introducing each other in English. The one with ponytails is Jenny. She has an absolutely contagious smile!

115th time's the charm!

Well, let's see if this will actually post!! Panda-Mom will be so proud! I didn't choose this particular picture because I have something to say...I was just trying to get a picture ANY picture to post! It kicked out so many others. This was pure luck. But, by the way...that's a good-looking couple. I wonder how long they've been together.

Well, August 10th was 15 years and I was so frustrated with my computer...I didn't even post anything. I'll do better in the future if my computer cooperates.

Does that thing have a Hemi?

Well, our furball is warming up. She's precious (yes, I figured out she's a she). She has an "M" on her forhead in the shape of the Dodge Ram symbol...so we've been (jokingly) calling her Hemi. Prince D thinks that's what we should call her, but Princess C wants to call her Pinky because of her pink nose. When she started purring...well, she has a Hemi. So, I think she has to have a middle name that's "girly". What about Hemi LeeAnne?

All bets are in.

I hope you voted in favor of a kitty...because we got one. The kids picked her out and right now she is a little skittish. The dog wants her desparately!! We have to keep telling her, "We didn't et the kitty as a chew toy." I'd be skittish, too. The kids are so excited that they can hardly keep their "paws" off of her...at least I think it's a her. She's so tiny it's hard to tell. Pictures to come...hopefully. I'm getting pretty frustrated. I didn't think I was THIS ignorant. I consider myself fairly smart. Anyway. More later.
